The Washington Post (8/3, Gold) reports on what it describes as an “unlikely partnership” between billionaire Charles Koch and United Negro College Fund President Michael Lomax, saying that the pair met in July. The Post says, “That July meeting helps illustrate why Koch invoked the memory of movements such as the fight for civil rights during a weekend speech to conservative donors,” likening “those struggles to efforts to roll back government regulations.” The Post jointly interviewed Koch and Lomax, during which Lomax said, “We have found a way of working together. And we’re going to influence each other, because we are going to talk.”
