Koch Fertilizer Canada, ULC has pledged $10,000 to help fund the new Instrument Landing System (ILS) at the Brandon Airport.
The ILS improves the safety of aircraft landing at the Brandon Airport in inclement weather.
“We are committed to improving the quality of life in Brandon,” said Lindsay Kaspick, Koch Fertilizer Canada’s managing director. “The ILS will enhance the airport’s capabilities, including enabling patients to be flown from Brandon to major centers for medical emergencies. We are pleased to support this important and much-needed improvement to the city’s airport.”
The ILS removes barriers to airport usage and may also lead to further opportunities for commercial air service to the area.
“The City of Brandon is delighted to accept this generous donation to the Brandon Airport Landing System,” said Brandon Mayor, Shari Decter Hirst. “Koch Fertilizer is recognized in Brandon as a good solid corporate citizen and this company gives back to the community in many ways, this donation being a huge bonus. Indeed, we are striving for progress with regards to our airport and this brings us one step further to utilizing it to improve the standards and quality of life for residents in Brandon and surrounding area. We are grateful to Koch Fertilizer for supporting our initiative to enhance the airport.”
Mr. Kaspick will present the $10,000 cheque to Mayor Shari Decter Hirst at Brandon City Hall at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011.
