INVISTA, together with HandsOn Shanghai, inaugurated a new program at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum to deepen science interest among students at Wen Hui primary school.
Wen Hui primary school serves many children who may have fewer educational and social development opportunities because their parents are migrant workers in Shanghai. During the half-day visit to the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, INVISTA volunteers are paired with a Wen Hui student to explore the vivid and diverse scientific world.
“It is a rewarding experience and I am glad to see the children so excited about science,” Fu Xiaomin, one of the INVISTA volunteers said. “We hope this kind of activity could let the children feel the care from us and the society.”
“INVISTA is commited to advancing interest in science among younger generations, while also meeting the specific needs of the communities in which INVISTA operates,”said Julie Walton, director, Government & Public Affairs, Asia Pacific. “We appreciate the opportunity to partner with Wen Hui primary school and HandsOn Shanghai to provide the chance for these children to develop their own love of science.”
As part of INVISTA’s community outreach initiatives, its offices and manufacturing sites in the region participate in and support corporate citizenship projects including scholarship programs, entrepreneurship education and youth enablement, relief efforts and emergency responders. INVISTA also encourages employee involvement in projects that enhance the overall quality of life in the communities in which it operates.
