NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital today broke ground on The David H. Koch Center at the hospital’s Upper East Side location on York Avenue between 68th and 69th Streets. Supported by a record $100 million lead gift from Hospital trustee and longtime supporter David H. Koch, the new outpatient center will offer cutting-edge ambulatory care to patients when it opens in 2018.

The David H. Koch Center is designed to provide patients with the best personalized and integrated outpatient care, from diagnosis to treatment to aftercare, in a single, technologically sophisticated, patient-friendly environment. The facility, with its light-filled and airy spaces, will house a range of services, including multidisciplinary care for digestive diseases, cancer, eye diseases and other conditions, as well as outpatient surgery, interventional radiology, diagnostic imaging, preadmission testing and a wellness center. Additionally, the center is specially designed to accommodate the most advanced technologies, making it possible to offer complex procedures on an outpatient basis.

“Today’s groundbreaking is an exciting milestone for NewYork-Presbyterian and for our patients not only from New York, but from across the nation and all over the world, who turn to us for the most comprehensive, state-of-the-art, personalized and compassionate care.” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, CEO, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. “The David H. Koch Center will be key to making this a reality—it will transform the outpatient experience and will be an ideal place for our physicians to provide innovative patient-centered care while advancing medicine.”
