LINCOLN, Neb. –– Koch companies Flint Hills Resources, Koch Fertilizer and Molex are contributing $200,000 over four years to The Career Academy (TCA) in Lincoln.  TCA offers career pathways for high school and college students and is a partnership of Lincoln Public Schools, Southeast Community College and local business and industry.  The grand opening was held August 10 at the new TCA facility on the Southeast Community College campus.

“Exposing students to a wide range of career opportunities is what TCA is all about. Partners like Koch Fertilizer, Flint Hills Resources and Molex enable students to experience skilled and technical opportunities for themselves throughout southeast Nebraska,” said Wendy Van, president of the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools.  “Education is changing to be more adaptive to our economy and our communities’ needs. Our business partners are critical to making that education come alive by opening their doors to students. We are very grateful.”

“Koch companies know the importance of providing opportunities through education,” said Koch Community Affairs Director Laura Hands.   “The Career Academy works to prepare students for college and career, providing hands-on early exposure to high-skill, high-demand careers.”

TCA brings together academic institutions with business and industry, which are helping to support the academy through resources, mentorships and internships.   See below for a full list of supporters of TCA.
