Tri-State Fertilizer Terminal, LLC has announced an agreement to build and operate a liquid fertilizer terminal near Fairmount, North Dakota, for exclusive use by Koch Fertilizer, LLC. The new facility will store 2.5 million gallons of liquid fertilizer. Construction is scheduled to begin later this summer.

“Demand for liquid fertilizer is continuing to grow in North Dakota and the surrounding states,” said Brad VanOverbeke, Manager of Tri-State Fertilizer Terminal. “We look forward to working with Koch Fertilizer to better serve the needs of area farmers.”

Tri-State Fertilizer Terminal, LLC is a joint venture between Farmers Union of the Southern Valley and Minn-Kota Ag Products. In addition to the new liquid fertilizer terminal, Tri-State Fertilizer also owns and operates a 30,000 ton state-of-the-art dry fertilizer storage and blending facility that was built in 2004.

“We continue to see substantial growth in our liquid fertilizer business,” said Scott Boyd, Koch Fertilizer’s Director, Western U.S. “Our relationship with Tri-State will help us serve our Northern Plains customers more efficiently.”
