Summit, job fair aimed at transitioning soldiers August 13, 2015 min read The Fort Leavenworth Lamp reports that “representatives from the military, private industry, government and law enforcement teamed to discuss what needs to happen to better prepare veterans for careers outside of the military and to ease that transition during a summit hosted by the Soldier For Life – Transition Assistance Program Aug. 11 at the Frontier Conference Center.” Retired Col. John Buckley, military relations manager at Koch Industries Inc. , said, “It was the most difficult thing I ever did in my life. It wasn’t until I started doing my own research on businesses, on procedures, on resumés and got the right mentors who were never in the military that I finally came around and understand the process.” Read more here.
